Barcelona – Spain

Hola Que tal? Spanish is a mellow language just as the narrow alleys in the Barrio Gotic. It’s my third time in Barcelona and I am always pleasantly surprised to find out new small lanes where getting lost and running into typical taverns where sipping a fresh and sparkling glass of Cava or tasting any kind of lush tapas. A perfect clear and turquoise sky with no clouds and a brisk and warm breeze welcomed me. Crazy but true, with only a 1 hour and 20 minutes flight I moved from a rainy Milan to a sunny 20 degrees day in Barcelona.

I addressed the research of the Hotel to Example area. It’s so elegant, full of services (shops, metro, trains to the airport) but above all Casa Battllò and La Pedrera are so close!!

FIRST STOP: SAGRADA FAMILIA

….But only after a delicious breakfast at Fornet in Carrer Mallorca! Greatest of wonders, I have discovered a typical Catalan sweet, the xuxo, a kind of enormous croissant covered by caramelized grains of sugar and full to bursting of chocolate…so an ecstasy!

SECOND STOP: VINOTECA TORRES

My boyfriend and I met two great friends who now live in Barcelona and with whom we share our passion for good wines. They suggested us Vinoteca Torres as one of the best in Barcelona and I can only confirm their choice! The wine bar belongs to Torres Family, a fixture among Spanish wine makers. In the past years they succeeded into broaden their own horizons and purchased different vineyards also in Chile and California. Among all their wines, worthy of attention are the Cabernet Sauvignon Mas La Plana and the Riesling, both bottled in Spain.

What I most love of Spanish people is their desire to live outdoors, to socialize and last but not at least the Tapas bar-hopping! and of course I was ready and willing to immerse myself in Spanish habits 😉

THIRD STOP: BARCELONETA

A fresh cerveza, seagulls gliding and the famous Giulia y Tellerini’s song’s notes “Barcelona” is the stunning backdrop to this sunny afternoon which inspired for my Blog’s creation. I regret not taking with me my swimsuit!
